Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russia is preparing a possible operation against the country's water supply systems in the coming months, stressing the need to increase the security of critical infrastructure.
According to the Ukrinform agency, Zelensky called for broad national coordination, following recent Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory.
"We know that the Russians are preparing an operation against water supply systems in the coming months. Every community must take seriously and with full responsibility the protection of these facilities ," he declared.
The Ukrainian president also focused on the situation in the Chernihiv region, where work continues to restore electricity after damage caused by the attacks.
"Particular attention was paid to the Chernihiv region, where the restoration of electricity continued throughout the day," Zelensky said, adding that he had instructed relevant institutions to cooperate closely with the military.
"I instructed government officials and the team of the President's Office to work with our military on air defense issues, especially on protection from drones in the western regions of Ukraine," he stressed.
Zelensky underlined that strengthening defense remains a priority, calling for the establishment of additional layers of security to counter potential threats.
"Additional layers of protection must be put in place – this is a clear task for all authorities," he concluded.
