Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists a deal with Hamas to secure the release of more than 100 hostages still being held in Gaza will not come "at any cost" as widespread protests continue in Israel.
"We are working to reach an additional framework for the release of our captives, but I emphasize: not at any cost. I have red lines, among them, we will not end the war, we will not remove the IDF from the belt and we will not free thousands of terrorists," he said on Sunday evening (January 28), reports CNN.
Families and other protesters continue to call for the release of those still in captivity - using the slogan "bring them home now".
