Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has shown his determination that the war will continue until a "total victory". He says he has dismantled almost two-thirds of Hamas' military force in the Gaza Strip.
During an interview, he said that the two main goals are disbanding the Hamas battalions and defeating the organization. He also added that the next goal is to release the hostages.
"There are two parts to the military operation: The first is the disbandment of the Hamas battalions. So far 16 or 17 of the 24 have been destroyed," the Israeli leader said.
Showing a photo of a slain soldier, Netanyahu vowed that military operations would continue until Hamas was defeated and hostages held in the Gaza Strip were freed.
"It will take many more months until victory, but we are determined to achieve it ," said the Israeli prime minister.
