Saudi Arabia's top diplomat in the US has reiterated calls for a cease-fire in Gaza and warned that further escalation could return the region to the Stone Age.
Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud said that there is trauma and pain on both sides and that an urgent ceasefire is needed!
" How many more children must die? How many more limbs must be lost? How many more parents have to lose their livelihood? It can't happen again ," she said.
Speaking to CNN's Becky Anderson at the World Economic Forum in Davos, she added that Saudi Arabia fully recognizes the need for Israel to feel secure, it cannot be at the expense of the Palestinian people.
" The longer this continues, it is inevitable that a mistake will occur that will take us back to the stone age. The area is hot and unstable ," she said.
She called for unity in the region, saying the only path to prosperity for the Middle East is unity.
On the issue of normalizing relations with Israel, Princess Reema said that it was something that Saudi Arabia is working on, but on the condition that the Palestinians are at the table.
