Far-right Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene has gone from being one of the most aggressive spokespeople for the "Make America Great Again" movement to a "traitor."
The representative from Georgia has become notorious for her combative confrontations with journalists and other politicians and her sensitivity to conspiracy theories.
Who is Marjorie Taylor Greene?
Ms. Taylor Greene, according to her biography in X: "Congresswoman for GA-14, Christian, mother, small business owner."
She was elected to Congress in 2020 and quickly became a powerful - and vocal - player in the Republican Party.
Often known by her initials MTG, she also proclaims herself to be a "proud, 100% pro-life, pro-gun, pro-Trump American."
She was a strong ally of President Trump until he withdrew his support for her in the upcoming midterm elections.
She has downplayed and justified the January 6th uprising at the Capitol, claiming that the protesters would have “won” and “been armed” if she had organized it.
After the White House called her comments "dangerous and disgusting," Ms. Taylor Greene said she had been joking.
In 2021, House managers removed her from committee assignments due to racist comments, her embrace of conspiracy theories, and her previous support for violence against Democratic officials.
She was widely denounced for comparing masks and vaccinations against COVID-19 to the persecution of Jews during the Holocaust.
On social media, she had made posts supporting violence against Democratic opponents and casting doubt on the September 11 terrorist attacks and the mass shootings at schools in Parkland and Sandy Hook.
However, in recent months, Ms. Taylor Greene had a new target for criticism - the president and what she called his "Last America" foreign policy.
Among her points of contention were Mr. Trump's support for Israel through attacks on Iran and for what she called genocide in Gaza.
The president then accused him of "serving the other side."
However, since her clash with Trump, Taylor-Greene has toned down her polarizing side.
In a post on X yesterday, Taylor Greene lamented her experience with the dark side of MAGA, which made her the victim of bomb threats and fake pizza deliveries.
