Mysterious event, prison mate narrates what happened shortly before

According to the person, a 'mysterious commotion' broke out at the detention center on Thursday evening, hours before Navalny's death was announced.

The most important figure of the Russian opposition, Alexei Navalny, has died. The Russian newspaper 'Novaya Gazeta' reveals what happened shortly before his death in the penal colony. The latest information makes the Kremlin's official version that Navalny collapsed and died after a walk on Friday morning even more unbelievable.

The Russian investigative newspaper managed to speak to one of Navalny's fellow prisoners, who is incarcerated in the remote penal colony IK-3, also known as the 'Polar Wolf'

According to the person, a 'mysterious commotion' broke out at the detention center on Thursday evening, hours before Navalny's death was announced.

The prisoner says: " It all started when our dinner checks were rushed. This usually happens on holidays, when the guards are in a hurry to celebrate ." But neither Thursday nor Friday were days off.

"Then they closed us, stopped any movement between the barracks and strengthened the security measures. We heard cars driving towards the prison premises late at night, but we couldn't see what they were from our cell windows,” says the 'Polar Wolf' inmate

The next morning, guards reportedly searched the inmates' cells thoroughly and confiscated phones, card games, and even heating coils, which they had never seen before. It is learned that the guards had the impression that an external inspection was expected.

This was extremely unusual, the prisoner points out, as normally both the administration and the prisoners find out about such checks about a month in advance. Because there is no interest for the inspectors to find violations. "And so we were expecting an unexpected inspection. Something must have happened," says the prisoner.

Around 10 a.m. on Friday, news of Navalny's death spread among the 'Polar Wolf' prisoners.

The area where Navalny was sheltered was somewhat far from the barracks, 'but we saw an ambulance moving up there', explains the insider of the penal colony. On Friday morning, when Navalny died, according to criminal authorities, 'there was no ambulance in the colony'. It appeared only when Navalny's death became known.

The prisoner puts it plainly: “So I think he died much earlier than was officially announced - most likely the night before. Otherwise, why would they close us completely and control us so minutely?".

Explosive is the fact that according to the prisoner, the director of the prison and the head of the penal colony appeared worried after the announcement of Navalny's death. In addition, inspectors from the center are said to have arrived at the colony at the same time as the death was reported. The newspaper's whistleblower sees this as evidence that Navalny actually died earlier than authorities claim.

In addition, the Kremlin continues to refuse to hand over the body to the family. According to 'Novaya Gazeta', the body is being kept in the district hospital in the city of Salekhard in northern Siberia. It is learned that the body of the deceased has black spots.

According to an emergency worker, the bruises indicate that Navalny had seizures before his death and was being held by prison staff. A bruise on the chest is also an indication that efforts were actually made to bring him to life./ BILD
