Air restrictions were lifted following the reports, paving the way for the resumption of regular flights at all its airports.
Earlier, the Tasnim news agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported that the country's civil aviation authority announced the lifting of flight restrictions at most airports.
Iran's ISNA news agency is quoting an unnamed senior military official as saying Friday morning explosions heard in Isfahan were related to "air defense activity" over the city.
Isfahan's commander said the army fired at "suspicious objects" in the area.
