Israel has carried out an operation in Iran during the evening, foreign media report, by launching drones.
Israeli officials had informed America that the response to Iran's attack a few days ago would come today.
International media reported, citing a senior US official, that Israel had fired missiles at Iran.

The state broadcaster reported that at around 12:30 local time, three drones were seen in the sky over Isfahan, and air defenses were activated to destroy them.
Air restrictions were lifted following the reports, paving the way for the resumption of regular flights at all its airports.
Earlier, the Tasnim news agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported that the country's civil aviation authority announced the lifting of flight restrictions at most airports.
Iran's ISNA news agency is quoting an unnamed senior military official as saying Friday morning explosions heard in Isfahan were related to "air defense activity" over the city.
Isfahan's commander said the army fired at "suspicious objects" in the area.
Ambrey, a British security firm, says merchant ships transiting the "Arabian Gulf and Western Indian Ocean" were advised to remain vigilant in case of increased unmanned aerial vehicle activity in the region.
CNN previously reported that Israel told the US that its response would be limited in scope. US intelligence had suggested that Israel was weighing a narrow and limited strike inside Iran because they felt they needed to respond with some kind of kinetic action given the unprecedented scale of the Iranian attack.
The US has urged Israel not to respond to last weekend's Iranian attack, which President Joe Biden on Thursday called "unprecedented". The US "did not green light" an Israeli response, the second official said.
