Hostilities resumed this morning after a week-long ceasefire agreement collapsed, with Israel launching around 200 strikes in Gaza since the early hours.
It took just minutes for Israeli airstrikes to resume in Gaza after a week-long ceasefire between Israel and Hamas ended. The Israeli army resumed combat operations after accusing Hamas of violating the temporary ceasefire.
Despite an overnight effort by Egypt and Qatar to broker a third extension to the ceasefire, the deal failed with both warring parties blaming each other.
Meanwhile, the Hamas-run Ministry of Health inside Gaza reports that 178 Palestinians have been killed since this morning as a result of Israeli airstrikes in the enclave. The ministry also said 589 people were injured.
Meanwhile images of the devastation coming out of Gaza show a number of people, including babies and young children, receiving medical treatment after being injured in today's attacks.
Israel claims it is doing everything possible to keep civilians out of the firing line, while Hamas has accused Israel of deliberately targeting them.
Also the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) claims that Israel has stopped any further aid from entering Gaza through the Rafah crossing. The report is still unverified, while Israel has not issued any statement regarding the aid ban./ Pamphlet
