A brave civilian has captured the horrific aftermath of a bombed-out city in Ukraine.
Before the war, photographer Pavlo Dorohoi was documenting the architecture of his hometown in Kharkiv, which is the second largest city in Ukraine.
But the beauty through the lens turned disastrously into still images of rubble as Russia declared bloodshed across Ukraine.

As the civilians were urged to find a place elsewhere, Pavlo stayed behind to record the destruction of the buildings.
He wrote in part on his Instagram page: "By turning on the lights in these houses, I wanted to give them hope that one day, life will return to them again. I hope that one day a song and the laughter of children can be heard again within these walls. I hope one day there will be people inside these walls again."
