Iran has reacted to a proposal made by former US President Donald Trump, describing the demands as "excessive" and unacceptable, after reviewing the 15-point plan.
The statement comes from an official quoted by Iranian state television, who stressed that the country will not accept conditions imposed from abroad.
According to the official, Tehran has considered the offer, but the position remains firm: the end of the war will only occur if Iran's conditions are met and at a time that Iran itself decides.
"Iran will not allow US President Donald Trump to dictate the timing of the end of the war," he said.
Through an intermediary, Iran has communicated to the United States that it will continue to defend itself against any threat. One of the main conditions set by Tehran for an end to the conflict is an immediate cessation of attacks on Iranian territory.
The statements indicate a tough stance by Iran in the face of international pressure and suggest that negotiations remain difficult.
