Jewish schools in Amsterdam will be closed tomorrow, Jewish children's organization Cheider told Reuters today, amid the deadly conflict between Israel and Palestinian Islamist militants Hamas.
The Cheider organization did not give a reason for the school closures, but confirmed Dutch media reports that the decision was made with the safety of children and teachers in mind.
There are fears of incidents within the Dutch Jewish community after Hamas called for demonstrations tomorrow in the Muslim world in favor of the Palestinians, the Dutch news agency ANP reported, citing the Israel Information and Documentation Center of the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, we remember that Britain has also announced the closure of two Jewish schools in northern London, for fear of terrorist attacks.
