"The heart of Krajina is big and in it lies the greatest love for Serbia, which they dreamed of visiting once or twice a year and had to move to Serbia to save their lives," said Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, as he commemorated the 30th anniversary of what is known as 'Storm', the Croatian army's operation in 1995.
Vučić said that when the conflict broke out in Krajina, "pink zones" were created and the destruction of Krajina was accomplished within a few days. "Serbia is weak, the world is unfair. They were eager to finish the story of Krajina and no one was talking about the United Nations pink zones," he said.
They said it was grand to kill 2,500 people and expel 250,000 others.
"It was difficult and painful for Serbs to watch. We were silent, they forced us to be silent, they told us: look to the future, there are no more wars and conflicts there. No one will touch your Kosovo, it is yours. You also have the Republika Srpska, everything is going normally. Then they said: Serbs, Kosovo cannot be done, now we will take 14 percent of your territory," he declared.
He also recalled the secession of Montenegro from the State Union, but also the declaration of independence of Kosovo.
"Look at the fate of the president of Republika Srpska. They never let him finish his term normally. Whoever was and had some honor in that position, so that he could survive and stay. From the way they treated Radovan Karadzic, let me remind you what they promised Biljana Plavsic, and where and how she ended up. What they did to President Poplašen because they no longer liked the way he was ruling, to what they did to President Dodik.
I am so fed up with their lies. Imagine if in our country we sentenced a day in prison for a verbal insult and not the president of a municipality, republic or entity.
"They would tell us: you violate all international legal norms, the rule of law does not exist, we will hang you in Brussels, Washington or anywhere else," he said.
Vučić also said that Serbs do not want to be servants of the "big and arrogant."
"If you had at least been fair and said: we made a mistake regarding Kosovo, we made a mistake regarding Republika Srpska. Let's see what we can do for you. No, you never said that. Because you big, powerful and strong, proud and arrogant, it is not you who are wrong. On the contrary, it is we, the little ones, who are wrong. We and only those who do not want to be your servants and subjects. And a Serb will not be your servant," Vučić warned.
He then spoke about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
"They say the rule of law and laugh at it... you have forgotten, people, all this that I will tell you. Three and a half years ago we had elections in northern Kosovo. They recognized the elections with a turnout of two and a half percent. And that was the rule of law and democracy. Shame on you. You took me to Moldova there to tell me: no, no, we will never accept this. Free Western Europe will never accept this. Just wait, Mr. President, you will soon have new elections. Because Serbs are 95 to 98 percent, depending on which municipality? They did not find them. They found some Serbian servants from 1941 to 1945, just like the Austrians did. The Bulgarians had them in the Balkan War and so on. There have always been such among the Serbs, but it is a small number," said the President of Serbia.
He also urged Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, as well as all those living there, to maintain peace.
"And I must say to those who think that the time has come for the abolition of the Republika Srpska and the disappearance of the Republika Srpska: let me just say that I guarantee you on behalf of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf, at least as long as I am the president of Serbia, there will be and will be a Republika Srpska and you will not be able to do anything to it," Vučić said.
Then he addressed those who are "calling 'Storm' to Serbia as well."
"I told those who use 'Storm' in Serbia, as well as those who use 'Storm' in Republika Srpska endlessly: they thought I was joking and that it was just a political speech. It is not. Please, do not try. No other 'Storm' will succeed and never again. We will never allow you to endanger Serbian freedom in any way," he said.
