Gaza peace plan, WHO: End of war still far away, 89 dead and 317 injured

Since the ceasefire in Gaza came into effect on October 11, at least 89 people have been killed and 317 injured, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stressed that the crisis in Gaza is far from over and that the needs of the population are still great.

Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance stated that the US will not send any troops to the enclave, but once again stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire.

"There will be no American troops on the ground in Gaza, but American leadership is essential to achieving this peace and will be needed to oversee it," he said after a three-day visit to Israel.

A day ago, Vance stressed that the ceasefire is being respected and that the disarmament of Hamas will take time.

According to him, there will be an international security force that has not yet been formed that will help disarm the Islamist movement, one of the biggest problems regarding the peace agreement.

Vance also reiterated President Trump's position that Israel should not annex the West Bank.
