While it is not yet clear when any potential agreement between the US and Iran will be signed, Iran has met with its key allies in Tehran.
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, held talks with Russian and Chinese officials, the semi-official Iranian news agency ISNA reported.
"Views were exchanged and discussions were held regarding the latest developments regarding the draft memorandum of understanding in Islamabad. The strategic partnership between Iran, China and Russia, as well as the coordination and cooperation between the three countries, will continue strongly," a statement from Gharibabadi said.
As a reminder, the Prime Minister of Pakistan said this afternoon that a memorandum of understanding is expected to be finalized "within the next 24 hours."
However, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman said the agreement would not be signed on Sunday.
