Pope Francis will leave Rome's Gemelli Hospital on Sunday.
After 5 weeks in the hospital, the Holy Father's health condition has improved, however, doctors announced that he will need rest for at least two months after leaving the hospital.
The Holy Father is recovering from double pneumonia that has affected both of his lungs, while his health situation has been critical from time to time over the past 5 weeks.
Pope Francis has been facing ongoing respiratory crises that have required the administration of additional oxygen, as well as kidney failure.
Since February 14, when he was hospitalized, the Holy Father has only been seen once, in a photo released by the Vatican last week.
The Vatican had previously said that the Holy Father would make an appearance on Sunday from the window of his hospital to greet the faithful, but this Saturday afternoon doctors confirmed that Pope Francis would leave the hospital.
The improvement in Pope Francis' health, according to doctors, came after he showed over the last few days that he no longer needed high amounts of supplemental oxygen.
