The moment in which the Israeli army repulses the attempt of Hamas to invade from the sea is published, captured in a video. Fighters of the Ezzedine al-Qassam brigade intended to move north along the coast and attack Kibbutz Zikim.
An Israeli army spokesman said after the attempt on Tuesday night its navy attacked Hamas men as they tried to infiltrate Israeli territory in the Zikim region from the sea.
The spokesman added that "warplanes attacked military positions, while also reporting eight dead, NewsSky reports.
"The nucleus of Hamas was discovered in Kiryat. Members of the organization emerged through a tunnel on the beach in the Gaza Strip and were killed while trying to enter Israeli territory in the Zikim area by sea. Air and naval forces attacked the tunnel from which the Hamas members emerged as well as the weapons depot they were using," the Israeli forces said in a statement.
