A rare video from the early 90s starring the current president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has been released by the Finnish channel YLE.
In this video from a vacation in Finland, a hairy Putin can be seen playing table tennis and having a good time.
Vladimir Putin, then about 40 years old and still a KGB officer, had just become an adviser to the then mayor of St. Petersburg, Anatoly Sobchak. Footage shows Sobchak and Putin playing ping pong with the Russian mayor's bodyguards as the current Russian president smiles.
In the same footage, Putin is seen going fishing, while his then wife, Ludmila, as well as his two daughters, Maria and Katerina, are also seen.
The video was recorded in a cottage owned by the Finnish company Thomesto that imported wood from Russia. The villa was located on the island of Torsö which is located about 96 km west of Helsinki.
