US President Donald Trump expressed his desire for a ceasefire on the Ukrainian fronts, in an initial comment on Vladimir Putin's statements regarding Moscow's conditional acceptance of the proposal.
"I hope Russia will do the right thing ," he said during his meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House.
He described the Russian president's statement as hopeful, but stressed that it was incomplete. He also stated that he was ready to talk to Putin about the ceasefire proposal.
He also told reporters that his envoy Steve Witkoff is in serious discussions in Russia. It is reported that during the day, Vitkoff is also expected to meet with Vladimir Putin.
