Peace between Moscow and Kiev, Putin ready for ceasefire with Ukraine!

It would not be surprising if a ceasefire were reached between Russia and Ukraine within a few days, followed by a long-term peace agreement that would end the three-year conflict.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed optimism about the idea of a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, but on the condition that it leads to a long-term peace.

"We agree with the proposal for a cessation of hostilities, but it must lead to lasting peace and eliminate the root causes of this crisis," Putin said.

Putin praised the US idea as "excellent and correct" and said Russia supports it in theory, but added that there are many things that still need to be discussed before an agreement can be reached.

During his press conference on Thursday, Putin said he has "reservations" about a proposed 30-day ceasefire in the war in Ukraine, saying it is not clear how the situation in the Kursk region and elsewhere would develop if a ceasefire were implemented.

Putin continued to raise many questions about a possible ceasefire, including how it would be verified.

"Who will give orders to cease hostilities and how much will these orders be worth? Who will decide where a violation of the possible ceasefire agreement along the 2,000 km of the border between Russia and Ukraine has occurred. All these issues should be carefully studied by both sides ," Putin said.

He also said he would "probably" call US President Donald Trump to discuss the proposal further.

" The idea of a ceasefire is good and we absolutely support it, but there are issues that we need to discuss. We need to negotiate with our American colleagues and partners and maybe have a phone call with US President Donald Trump. The very idea of ending this conflict by peaceful means, we support it ," Putin added.

However, Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump are not expected to speak to each other on Thursday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told CNN.

It is worth noting that this is a positive sign just hours before US envoy Steve Witkoff and the Russian delegation are due to meet in Moscow to discuss the US-backed ceasefire proposal for Ukraine. It would not be surprising if a ceasefire were reached between Russia and Ukraine within days, followed by a long-term peace agreement that would end the three-year conflict./ Pamphlet
