US President Joe Biden in his speech to the General Assembly called for international cooperation to tackle global challenges, stressing that countries around the world share a common future.
He called on world leaders not to allow support for Ukraine to wane, saying Russia is banking on the idea that countries may tire of the protracted conflict that "will allow it to brutalize Ukraine without consequence."
" If we abandon the core principles of the UN charter to appease an aggressor, can any member state feel confident that it is protected? If we allow Ukraine to be dug up, is the independence of any nation secure?" , he said.
He said the US and its partners would "defend democracy", adding that they must stand against this aggression today to deter other potential aggressors tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Antonio Guterres, during his speech at the UN summit in New York, declared that countries such as Russia are creating insecurity in the world for everyone after the invasion of Ukraine.
He added that the war in Ukraine has had serious implications for the world beyond Kiev, pointing to the Black Sea grain deal.

" There are tens of thousands of children that we know have been abducted by Russia, and we are trying to bring the children home, but time is running out. What will happen to them? Those children in Russia are taught to hate Ukraine and all ties to their families are broken. This is clearly a genocide. We must act united to defeat Russia so that the UN can focus on other global challenges ," he said.
Zelensky continued his speech by listing other deadly threats besides nuclear weapons.
