An Australian student got lucky after the bank accidentally swiped $4.6 million.
Christine Jiaxin Lee, a student living in Sydney, Australia claimed that she did not notice the bank error for more than two years. After discovering the amount, she goes on a luxury spree. For 11 months, she spent nearly 3 million dollars.
She had bought jewellery, clothes and handbags from luxury brands. She also spent a small fortune on renting an apartment in Sydney and transferred large sums of money to various bank accounts.
An arrest warrant was issued for her and her passport was seized. Lee, originally from Malaysia, was arrested for fraud while trying to board a flight to Malaysia using a Malaysian passport.
