Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky does not consider a peace summit with representatives of Russia, proposed by his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, possible.
Erdogan hosted the Ukrainian president for a meeting in Istanbul to discuss a peace summit or a bilateral Ukraine-Russia dialogue moderated by Ankara.
Zelensky said that we cannot invite to the discussion people who destroy and kill everything. He emphasizes that they must see concrete results for peace in the country. The Ukrainian president adds that only after a detailed plan is drawn up, then representatives of Russia can be involved.
"I don't understand how we can invite people who block, destroy and kill everything. We want to see concrete results for peace in Ukraine. Therefore, first of all, it is the civilized countries of the world that will draw up a detailed plan through which there will be results, and only then will representatives of Russia be involved," said Zelensky.
The two presidents also signed several accords, including those for the facilitation of bilateral trade and military cooperation between the two countries. Zelensky also visited a shipyard where a warship is being built for the Ukrainian navy.
