Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said Israel is coordinating closely with the United States as it prepares to respond to Iran's attack a few days ago, but stressed that the decision will ultimately be made by them.
Although the US has made clear it opposes an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, Gallant said Israel has not ruled out any of its options.
" Everything is on the table. Israel has the ability to hit targets near and far, we have proven that. We will respond appropriately to the Iranian attack. We will not sit idly by and neither should the international community," said Gallant, who will meet with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Wednesday to coordinate on threats from Iran and its proxies.
Gallant has become one of Israel's main interlocutors with the US, speaking frequently with Austin and senior White House officials.
He also met on Sunday with General Michael Erik Kurilla, head of US Central Command, to discuss Israel's planned retaliation against Iran.
