US Senator Lindsey Graham has warned Iran not to get involved in the conflict between Israel and Hamas or else there will be consequences.
At a press conference in Tel Aviv, he addressed Iran with the words: "If this war expands, it will come to your backyard."
" There will not be two fronts, there will be three. If there is an attempt to unleash Hezbollah on the Jewish state to destroy it, my attention will be on Tehran. If these innocent hostages are massacred, I hold you accountable, Iran, because you can stop it if you want ," he said.
About 212 hostages are currently suspected to be being held by Hamas in Gaza, according to the Israeli military.
" The idea that this happened without Iranian involvement is laughable ," Mr. Graham said.
The South Carolina Republican senator said the congressional delegation was in Israel "to tell Iran we are watching you."
He said that for Iran to fail, Israel must destroy Hamas and the Palestinians must have a better life.
