German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, during a ceremony in the German city of Dessau-Rosslau, where a synagogue was reopened, 85 years after it was destroyed by the Nazis, declared that there will be zero tolerance for anti-Semitism in Germany.
Scholz said that Germany will protect the lives of Jews, expressing his shock at the spread of anti-Semitism, which he says is all over the world and, shamefully, even in Germany.
" A number of anti-Semitic incidents have been reported in Germany since the attacks and Israel's retaliatory bombing campaign. Jewish homes in Berlin are marked with the Star of David, and attackers last week threw two Molotov cocktails at a Jewish synagogue in the city.
We should not turn a blind eye "when Jews are not safe on the streets of Germany, when stars of David are stamped on homes, when firebombs are thrown into synagogues ," Scholz said.
