The United States is preparing some of its most powerful long-range bombers for possible strikes on targets deep inside Iran as the escalating conflict expands into Gulf shipping corridors and oil infrastructure across the region.
Videos taken yesterday at RAF Fairford in Britain showed US Air Force B-1 bombers loaded with heavy "bunker-busting" munitions, widely interpreted by analysts as a sign that Washington may be preparing to strike fortified underground facilities where Iran is believed to store ballistic missiles and drones.
The video also showed a missile launcher being removed from the weapons bay of at least one B-1, suggesting the aircraft could be configured to carry large precision bombs designed to destroy difficult underground targets.

The developments come after US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the "most intense" day of US strikes on Iran with "more fighters, more bombers, more strikes".
A fleet of US military aircraft has been stationed at RAF Fairford since Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer approved US "defensive" action against Iranian missile sites from British bases.
Three B-52 bombers, which can carry up to 24 cruise missiles, and four B-1 Lancer bombers have been seen arriving at the Cotswold base since Friday.
