US-Iran, Russia offers to mediate dialogue on nuclear program

Russia has expressed its willingness to facilitate constructive dialogue between the United States and Iran regarding the latter's nuclear program, International Affairs reported.

"Russia is ready to offer its best services to Washington, Tehran and all those interested in this issue," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview.

The offer comes amid ongoing tensions surrounding Iran's nuclear activities and broader geopolitical friction between Washington and Tehran. Trump reportedly claimed in a recent interview with NBC News that "if Iran doesn't comply, they will be bombed; bombed in a way they've never seen before."

In response to this threat, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swiss ambassador in Tehran, who represents US interests in the country, to deliver an official warning note. The Iranian official condemned the US President's "provocative and illegal" statements and stressed Iran's determination to respond "firmly and immediately to any threat."

Ryabkov also condemned President Trump's threats and ultimatums to Iran. The senior diplomat warned that possible US military action could have "catastrophic" consequences for the entire Middle East region.

In another update, Ryabkov referred to transatlantic relations and said the United States will remain committed to the North Atlantic Alliance. He suggested that Washington's rhetoric toward European allies is aimed primarily at encouraging them to increase their defense spending.
