United States President Donald Trump stated that the US is taking necessary action regarding Iran and that Tehran is facing serious consequences from the current situation.
Trump spoke during an event at the White House, where his wife, Melania Trump, was also present, as part of activities for Women's History Month. During his speech, the US president deviated from the topic to comment on developments in the conflict with Iran.
" The situation with Iran is moving very quickly. We are doing what needs to be done ," Trump said.
He described Iran as "a nation of terror and hatred" and added that the country is paying a heavy price now.
" They are truly a nation of terror and hatred, and they are paying a huge price now ," he added.
The US president also repeated his previous statements about the military strength of the United States, calling the US military the best in the world. Trump also criticized previous US administrations, saying they had not taken the necessary action to stop Iran's efforts to develop a nuclear weapon.
His statements come at a time of high tensions in the Middle East and as the situation between the US and Iran remains evolving.
