The US seems to have "fed up" with Netanyahu's whims and has begun to design his replacement at the head of the Israeli government.
Clashes within Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet seem to have reached the highest levels and the fall of the government is closer than ever.
According to what is reported by the Israeli media, a senior Israeli cabinet minister traveled to Washington today for talks with senior American officials, but without Benjamin Netanyahu's permission.
An official from Netanyahu's Likud party said Benny Gantz, a political rival who joined the government after the October 7 Hamas attacks, was traveling without authorization from the prime minister.
The visit comes amid disagreements between the Biden administration and the Israeli cabinet. The Likud official said Netanyahu had a "tough conversation" with Mr. Gantz for the trip and told him that the country has "only one prime minister".
Gantz will meet with Vice President Kamala Harris and national security adviser Jake Sullivan, according to his National Unity Party.
With infighting within the government and around 10,000 people protesting last night to demand early elections, Benjamin Netanyahu's downfall looks to be a matter of days.
"If political divisions grow and Gantz leaves the government, the door will be opened for wider public protests against her. There is a lot of anger. The moment you have that anger and a coalition that is disconnected from the people, there will be an explosion ," said Reuven Hazan, a professor of political science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The US seems to have "fed up" with Netanyahu's whims and has begun to design his replacement at the head of the Israeli government.
With the people ready to erupt in revolts and demand early elections, Washington can give them 'a hand' to speed up the overthrow of the leader who has not been at all cooperative with them on the war in Gaza./ Pamphlet
