Two powerful explosions were recorded during the construction work of a new shopping center in Hamburg, Germany, leaving two workers with serious injuries.
Images filmed by bystanders show two successive explosions and a huge cloud of smoke engulfing the construction site and then spreading across the city.
Firefighters quickly went to the scene and showed that the explosion came as a result of gas leaking from the canisters placed on the roof. Civil protection authorities asked citizens near the explosion area to keep their doors and windows closed for several hours.
