A powerful explosion rocked one of the city areas of Frankfurt overnight. Residents felt the shock as smoke spread through the area.
Frankfurt police issued a statement regarding the incident, clarifying that the event took place on Saalburgallee, in the Bornheim neighborhood.
Police are now investigating the incident as a case of deliberately causing an explosion.
"Around 3 a.m., witnesses called police and firefighters on the emergency number to report a loud explosion in the area," officials said. According to the report, an explosion occurred in the entrance area of an apartment building, damaging the structure. No one was injured. Whether this explosion is related to other similar incidents in the recent past is the subject of ongoing investigations.
