The White House has stated that the US military campaign against Iran, called Operation Epic Fury, could last four to six weeks.
This assessment was made today by White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, during a media appearance before a meeting between President Donald Trump and major defense contractors.
Leavitt stressed that the United States has sufficient stockpiles of weapons and ammunition to meet all operational needs during this period. She added that US forces are making rapid progress, including close control of Iranian airspace.
President Trump had previously suggested that the operation could last about four to five weeks, but had left open the possibility that it could last "much longer" depending on developments.
On the other hand, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has stated that the US will take "all the time necessary" to ensure the complete success of the mission, underlining that the pace and duration are controlled by the American side.
Leavitt also confirmed that the Trump administration is considering a number of potential figures to lead Iran after the conflict.
