The Montenegrin editor of the "M" portal, Danica Nikolic, stated that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic intends to unite Montenegro with Serbia and everything depends on the politics in Montenegro if he will achieve his goal.
According to her, this is not a new thing, since such efforts have been constant and early on the part of those who have led Serbia.
" Obviously, he is on the way to achieving his goals. It is not that there were no such attempts before, not only during the government of Vucic, but also during the government of Vojislav Kostunica, and even Boris Tadic, who today is considered a somewhat more progressive Serbian president than Vucic. So there have always been those efforts, there always will be ," she said.
In an interview for "The Geopost", she said that the goal of creating a Serbian world cannot be achieved peacefully, but only through war. According to her, this threat also includes Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia.
Commenting on the last meeting of the president of Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, with the speaker of the Assembly of Montenegro, Andrea Mandić, she stated that the messages that were given there were chilling.
" The last thing that happened was the visit of Milorad Dodik, who through Vučić is also the direct representative of Russia and Vladimir Putin in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the entire region. The messages that Andrija Mandić and Dodik sent, especially those related to the so-called Serbian world, are chilling and can resonate, if we analyze them well enough and if we read and listen to them enough times. They are even threatening in the sense that their goal to reach the so-called Serbian world does not come peacefully, but in other ways.
In this sense, let's remember Andrija Mandić's statement a year ago, when he was still in the opposition, that he called on his comrades in arms to take out their weapons, when, as far as I can remember, the law on freedom of religion was debated while it was still being debated in the Assembly. So, these are constant goals and a constant threat to the entire region, not only to Montenegro, but also to Bosnia and Herzegovina, to Kosovo, and even to Macedonia, which is least mentioned, but in fact it is a threat to to. Other countries in the Balkans, such as Croatia, are protected by EU membership" , said Nikolić.
However, she emphasizes that such plans are destined to fail, but adds that forces are constantly needed to engage in the fight against such an idea.
" So it will fail again this time, it just depends on whether that failure happens in 2024 or 2030, little important. It is important that we have the strength to fight against this ," she added.
She also comments on Montenegro's relations with NATO, for which she emphasizes that according to the reliable information she has, the alliance has reservations about Montenegro, especially when it comes to sharing confidential information.
" The Russian influence is not much less, and I would disagree with it there.
