Spain has closed its airspace to flights related to the United States and Israel's military operation against Iran, a decision that signals Madrid's reservations about escalating the conflict.

However, the reaction from Washington has been immediate and downplaying. A Trump administration official told the Spanish agency Efe that the US armed forces are "meeting or exceeding all objectives" within the framework of Operation Epic Fury.
"We do not need the help of Spain or others," the official stressed, implying that Madrid's decision is not expected to affect the progress of operations.
