Tariffs, deportations and negotiations / Trump makes everyone an enemy:

Three people are to blame for starting the war in Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump acknowledged in a speech today that Russian President Vladimir Putin started the war in Ukraine, but did not hesitate to blame Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and former President Joe Biden. According to him, three people are to blame for starting the war in Ukraine.

" This is a war that should never have been allowed to start. Biden could have stopped it, and Zelensky should have stopped it, and Putin should never have started it. Everyone is to blame. This was Biden's war and I'm trying to stop it ," Trump said in the Oval Office, as he hosted El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele for a meeting.

Following his earlier comment about Putin starting the war, Trump went on to suggest that Zelensky had miscalculated when deciding to go to war with Russia.

"Listen, when you start a war, you have to know that you can win the war, right? You don't start a war with someone who's 20 times bigger than you and then hope people give you some missiles ," Trump said.

-Tariffs?

President Donald Trump's 25% tariffs on all cars shipped to the United States are expected to raise the cost of buying a car by thousands of dollars. But Trump told reporters Monday that he is considering a short-term tariff exemption for auto companies.

" I'm looking for something to help some of the car companies where they're switching to parts that are made in Canada, Mexico and other countries and they need a little more time. They'll make them here, but they need a little more time ," Trump said.

There is currently no such thing as a car that is entirely made in America. While some cars are assembled in the US, with parts from Canada and Mexico, there is no car with 100% of its car parts made in the US.

Shares of the traditional Big Three American automakers — Ford ( F ), General Motors ( GM ) and Stellantis ( STLA ) — rose after Trump's comments. Ford and Stellantis traded about 3% higher Monday afternoon, while General Motors rose 4%.

On Friday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said that electronic devices imported into the United States, such as smartphones and computers, were exempt from Trump's reciprocal tariffs, including the minimum 145% tariff on Chinese imports.

"I'm a very flexible person. I talk to (Apple CEO) Tim Cook, I decided to help Tim Cook... I don't want to hurt anybody ," Trump said.

-Negotiations with Iran on Nuclear Weapons?

The White House chief of staff said he thinks Iran is being included in nuclear weapons negotiations after the first round of closed-door discussions this weekend in Oman.

" We had a meeting with them on Saturday. We have another meeting scheduled for next Saturday. I said: This is a long time. You know, this is a long time, so I think they can eavesdrop on us," Trump said in the Oval Office, as he stressed that Iran must get rid of the concept of a nuclear weapon.

"They can't have a nuclear weapon ," Trump added.

-Deportation of immigrants

Trump said he would deport as many "dangerous" undocumented immigrants in El Salvador as possible, urging President Nayib Bukele, who was in the Oval Office, to build more mega-prisons.

" I just asked the president, can you build some more of them please. Enough to keep the deportees from our country that were allowed to come in here by the incompetent Joe Biden, through the open borders," Trump said./Pamphlet
