Hackers linked to Iran have publicly claimed responsibility for hacking into the personal email of FBI Director Kash Patel, posting photos of the director and his alleged resume online, Reuters reports.
On their website, the Handala hacker group said that Patel "will now find his name on the list of victims who have been successfully hacked."
A Justice Department official confirmed to Reuters that Patel's emails had been hacked, but did not provide further details.
The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The hackers did not immediately respond to messages.
