Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the International Economic Forum in Saint Petersburg, has announced that Russia has transferred the first nuclear weapons to Belarus.
" The first nuclear weapons were delivered on the territory of Belarus. This is the first part. But by the end of the summer, by the end of the year, we will complete this work ," said Putin.
Russia announced plans to install several tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus under its control last month. This is the first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union that such weapons are being transferred outside the territory of Russia.
This news will greatly increase the fear in Europe also because of the statements made by the Belarusian leader, Lukashenko, who said that he would use nuclear weapons without hesitation, if someone from Europe attacked or provoked his country.
