NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in a video message addressed to those present at the Prespa forum being held today in Struga, North Macedonia said that the world is at a crossroads.
Stoltenberg says that the brutal Russian aggression on Ukraine shook peace in Europe and security. And relations with Russia even when the war is over will not be the same.
" Whenever the war ended, relations with Russia changed dramatically. The security environment in Europe will not be the same as before. President Putin wants another Europe that loses democracy and freedom ", underlined Stoltenberg
On the other side is China
"We see that China and Russia are getting closer, China is not our enemy, but it challenges our security and values" said the head of NATO
Stoltenberg has an answer for the skeptics of the expansion of the European Union.
" This event asks whether we will have an extended European family by 2030. It is mission impossible or possible. The answer is that it is more than mission accomplished. Following in the footsteps of North Macedonia, Finland joined the alliance ," he continued.
And while he assured that Sweden's accession to NATO will be completed as soon as possible, Russia will have no chance to stop its accession to NATO
" Ukraine belongs to the North Atlantic family. All our allies agreed and agreed that Ukraine will be a member of NATO. This decision is taken by the members, and Russia does not have the right to veto here .
And when the world is at a crossroads and in one direction there is fear, war, on the other side we have democracy and peace and this is the path that NATO will always bring, Secretary General Stoltenberg concluded his speech in the session "Peace and democracy against war and autocracy" that is being held in North Macedonia.
