An attempted kidnapping of a girl and her boyfriend, who turn out to be relatives of a cryptocurrency boss, has failed. The serious incident occurred in the middle of the French capital, Paris, where masked men attempted to kidnap two people, who identified themselves as the daughter and nephew of the cryptocurrency boss.
The criminals arrived in a van disguised as a postal vehicle and tried to force them into the van.
The girl managed to grab the gun from one of the robbers during the fight and threw it away. The gun turned out to be an "airsoft" gun, which shoots plastic pellets at a range of 50 meters.
The girl and boy are relatives of the president and co-founder of cryptocurrency company Paymium, a French exchange platform created in 2011 and which presents itself as a European pioneer in bitcoin trading.
