The European Union's foreign ministers have engaged for the first time in a joint discussion on sanctions against Israel, if it does not respect international humanitarian law.
This is what the prestigious magazine Politico reports.
"There was a very clear consensus on the need to support international humanitarian law institutions," said Irish Foreign Minister Micheal Martin.
The International Court of Justice in its ruling states that Israel must immediately stop its offensive in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, and open the Rafah border crossing for the entry of humanitarian aid.
But this reasoning was ignored by the Prime Minister of the Jewish state, Benjamin Netanyahu, who vowed to continue the fight against Hamas and its elements until the end.
In front of the Israeli parliament, Netanyahu promised to continue the fight until the victory flag is raised. Meanwhile, Algeria has called for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the recent Israeli raids in Rafah.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned the Israeli attack on Rafah, in southern Gaza, where dozens of innocent civilians who were only seeking refuge from this deadly conflict were killed.
"There is no safe place in Gaza. This horror must end," Guterres said.
So far, the Israeli army has not stopped the bombing in different areas of the Gaza Strip. During the last 24 hours, 6 civilians were killed and many others were injured. Hospital sources in Gaza speak of hundreds of seriously injured people, for whom there is no medication.
Numerous protests have affected major European capitals and the United States. Hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched in the rain in New York to express anger at the latest Israeli attacks in Rafah. In Paris, police used tear gas to disperse protesters.
