Donald Trump accuses the British Labor Party of meddling in the race for the White House. The former president's campaign has lodged its complaint with the Federal Election Commission, accusing Labor of sending strategists to help Kamala Harris, reports the Financial Times.
The statement cites media reports that Labor Party officials, such as Prime Minister Keir Starmer's chief of staff, have traveled to the United States several times in recent months to advise the Harris campaign.
The letter also refers to a report in the Washington Post alleging advice was offered between UK Labor and Ms Harris's campaign, and other reports about meetings between senior Labor staff and the Democratic campaign.
The complaint also refers to a social media post, which now appears to have been deleted, in which a Labor staff member said "nearly 100 Labor Party staff will be going to the US in the coming weeks" to support Harris.
In response, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said party officials who volunteered for Harris ahead of the US presidential election on November 5 "were doing so in their spare time".
He insisted he had a "good relationship" with Trump that would not be jeopardized by the complaint.
Labor Party leader and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer met Mr Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, during a trip to New York last month.
