The candidate for president in Ecuador, Fernando Villavicencio, executed yesterday by criminal groups in the country, had several times denounced the Albanian cocaine trafficking mafia operating in Latin America in recent years.
On March 18 of this year, Villavicencio shared on his Twitter profile an investigative article by the Daily Mail entitled "Albanian gangs are bringing drugs from Ecuador to Great Britain".

In March of that year, Villavicencio had accused the government of his country, and especially President Guillermo Lasso, of being connected to the Albanian mafia.
"In ElGranPadrino's report they collected audio and leaked reports accusing Lasso of being connected to the Albanian mafia. But, in the accusation they wiped out the Albanians, in fact, they almost eliminate Albania from the world map," he wrote in March of this year.

He said that from an investigation into the heads of the mafia, with the influence of the government, all links and facts involving the Albanian mafia had been removed.
According to an investigation at the time, three Albanians with the codes "HD Dibra", "HD Barrioso" and "HD Maximo" were reported to have strong ties to the Ecuadorian government and cocaine cartels.

One of the most well-known names in the world of crime, Dritan Rexhepi, was released precisely from Ecuador's prison, allegedly after strong interventions in the government, which changed the length of his sentence.
We remind you that during the last few years, Ecuador has ended up in a violent spiral of crime by drug cartels, turning into one of the most important destinations for the supply of drugs in Europe.
