Former Italian prosecutor Giuseppe Ayala has stated that when there are no murders between mafia families, there is balance between them.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, he added that after more than 30 years, the situation between the mafia clans is more stabilized.
" We should not think that the mafia has been defeated. The Mafia has reverted to its traditional strategy of not showing up, but it still exists. It is not in its most powerful days, but it is not defeated. The threat continues and exists ", said Ayla.
The departure of Matteo Messina Denaro from the mafia scene after his death is seen as a new era for the progress of the Cosa Nostra organization. His death is accompanied by positive comments even from the mafiosi themselves, including those from Trapani, but also from politicians and businessmen of associates, who in recent years have been investigated by the police, monitored in their every move with judicial actions that have led to prison - for his fault - hundreds of people whose assets worth hundreds of millions of euros were confiscated.
