US President Donald Trump confirmed that he will attend the funeral of activist Charlie Kirk.
"The funeral will be held in Arizona. They have asked me to go and I am obligated to do so. When the funeral is scheduled, I will go," Trump said.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump again attacked the "radical left," saying, "We have to defeat the psychopaths of the radical left. We have to hit them hard."
In another statement, the US president stressed the need for a non-violent response from his supporters, saying that "Charlie Kirk was against violence. This is the way I want people to react."
Meanwhile, Kirk's wife, Erika Franzweg, was photographed disembarking from Air Force Two with US Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha. Air Force Two, the US vice president's plane, was used to transport the activist's body back to his home state of Arizona.
Kirk's assassin has not yet been found, while authorities have released his image and are asking for the public's help in identifying him.
"We are asking for the public's help in identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University ," the statement said.
