Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar gave details about the assassination of Ali Larijani, confirming that the operation targeted a key security figure in Iran. During a press conference, Sa'ar spoke openly about how the assassination was carried out, without going into technical details, but considering it a direct blow to the regime's structure.
"There was a $10 million bounty on Larijani's head; but we did it for free," Sa'ar declared, sending a clear message to both Tehran and Washington. With this statement, he confirmed the elimination of a senior official and emphasized that Israel acted without relying on American bounty programs.
A few days ago, the US State Department announced a program offering up to $10 million for information on leaders associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The list included names such as Mojtaba Khamenei, Esmail Khatib, Ali Asghar Hejazi, Yahya Rahim Safavi and Esqandar Momeni. According to the announcement, informants could receive protection and relocation outside of Iran.
US officials explained that these individuals lead units that plan and carry out violent operations globally. Sa'ar's statement puts Israel in an active and independent position, signaling a new escalation in the confrontation with Iran.
