The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, met on Wednesday with the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vullin, on the sidelines of an economic forum in Vladivostok.

In the meeting, which was broadcast live on the YouTube platform, Vullin said that Serbia is not only a strategic partner, but also an ally of Russia.

He said that because of his attitude, Serbia is under tremendous pressure.

"Well, Serbia, led by the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vučić, is a Serbia that will never become a member of the NATO pact, that will never impose sanctions on Russia and will never allow anti-Russian actions. to be carried out from its territory", said Vullin.

The American State Department has previously told the Voice of America that the American attitude towards Vullin is "well known" and that he is under American sanctions.

Previously, the European Union said that "maintaining ties with Russia at the time of aggression against Ukraine is not in line with EU values and the membership process."

"The EU has been absolutely clear with our partners: relations with Russia cannot be normal after Russia's unprovoked and unjustified war against Ukraine," the European bloc said in a response to Radio Free Europe on September 3.

The forum in Vladivostok, Russia will be held from September 3 to 6.

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, has said that Vullin's visit to Russia is "nothing so terrible".

"We have not severed diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation, it is not forbidden for anyone to meet representatives of the Russian Federation", he told Radio Free Europe.

Vucevic has said that Serbia does not encourage the war in Ukraine and does not support the violation of Ukraine's territorial integrity.

He recalled that the prime minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, as prime minister of a member country of the European Union and NATO, was recently in Moscow and met with Putin.

"If Orbani is allowed, of course Vullini can also meet him. I don't see where there is a difference or a different approach", said the Prime Minister of Serbia.

Vullin has been to Moscow several times since the start of Russia's war in Ukraine.

He is known for his connections with Russia, while since July 11 of last year he has been put on the American blacklist for "corruption and destabilizing actions" in order to advance his agendas and personal interests, harming peace. and stability in the Western Balkans./ REL
