Shocking details are revealed from the serious event in Liosia, Greece, where a 57-year-old man burned the body of his elderly father.
Yesterday evening, the police found a burnt body in the yard of an apartment.
His body was found on top of a burnt mattress on the balcony, wrapped in a blanket as it is a domestic crime.
According to the investigations so far, it is reported that the boy burned the body of his elderly father. Protothema.gr reports that the victim's son has been arrested and is being questioned by the black squads. He told the police that he burned his father's body, as he had no money to bury him.
He suffers from mental health problems. According to the residents of the area, the elderly man is thought to have died a few days ago as the heavy wind in the neighborhood was strong. Residents of the area told protothema.gr that the old man said that he was raped by his son.
But the new testimony of the 57-year-old is shocking. The 57-year-old told the police that he was forced to burn his father's body, as he could not stand the heavy smell.
"I had to burn it, I couldn't stand the stench anymore", he is quoted as saying.
Also, the 57-year-old said that his father had passed away since February, as he emphasized that he did not kill him.
"I burned him because I couldn't stand the smell, I didn't have money to bury him" , he emphasized in front of the black toga.
He insists that he is not the perpetrator who dismembered his father's body.
"When I took him out to the yard, dragging the suspect, some parts of the father's body were detached," the 57-year-old said in his statement.
It will be the forensic examination that will clarify the mysterious case.
We recall that this morning, the 57-year-old was sent to the scene by the police, in the presence of the Prosecutor's Office, to describe under what circumstances and for what reason he set fire to the mattress where his father was.
The 57-year-old, who suffers from psychological problems, has been arrested and is suspected of being the author of the macabre crime.
