Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he is ready for Ukraine to hold political elections, but not without ending the war.
This statement by Zelensky has prompted a joke from US President Trump, who asked his Ukrainian counterpart: "So what you're saying is that in three years, if we're at war, there won't be another election?"
Zelensky laughed in response.
The Ukrainian president has avoided commenting on the question of whether he is ready for territorial concessions.
"We need a strong and well-equipped Ukraine. The issue of weapons, training and intelligence depends on what big countries like the US will offer us," Zelensky said.
