Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today that a high-level meeting of leaders of the so-called "Coalition of the Willing" is being prepared, to be held on January 6 in France. The news was made public by Zelensky himself through a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter), where he emphasized the importance of the talks and the involvement of key international actors in efforts for peace and security in Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian president, a preparatory meeting will be held in Ukraine on January 3, bringing together national security advisers from the countries participating in the Coalition. The details of this meeting have been discussed with the Ukrainian chief negotiator, Rustem Umerov, who has confirmed the agreement with international representatives to hold these talks in two stages.
"The meetings are necessary and we are planning them carefully. We are in constant contact with our partners," Zelensky said.
In a detail of particular interest, Zelensky thanked President Donald Trump's team for its readiness to participate in all formats aimed at making concrete progress. "I am grateful for the readiness of President Trump's team to participate in all effective formats," he stressed, underlining that the teams have been in direct contact and have discussed the next steps and priorities in the negotiation process.
