Around 15 Economic Crime officers from the Tirana Police Directorate landed today at the offices of the pharmaceutical company "Medicamenta", owned by businessman Ilir Shehu.
According to reliable sources from within the Police for "Pamphlet", the operation was carried out as part of an international investigation being carried out in cooperation with Italian authorities.
The investigations are suspected of being related to international drug trafficking and pharmaceutical smuggling, activities which have long been of concern to law enforcement authorities.
Ilir Shehu, administrator and shareholder of "Medicamenta", has often been the subject of public accusations of suspicious activity, but so far there has been no official reaction from him or the company regarding today's police operation.
